Basic rules for ordering outgoing foreign payments

Out of concern for the safety and highest standards of service for outgoing foreign payments, mBank would like to remind you about the basic rules concerning the placement of such orders for execution. It is necessary to:

• provide the beneficiary's correct account number (in the IBAN standard where required),
• provide full information concerning the beneficiary's name and address,
• provide the BIC code of the beneficiary's bank (recommended) or the full name and address of this bank,
• choose the cost option “SHA” (costs of the transferring bank are covered by the person requesting the transfer, while costs of third party banks are covered by the beneficiary), in particular in the case of payments executed inside the European Union and the European Economic Area.

Failure to comply with the above rules may result in:

• delays in effecting payments on the side of third party banks,
• additional costs arising from manual processing of payment orders,
• return of a payment.

We would like to inform you that on the occasion of the next change to the Tariff of Fees and Commissions of mBank for SMEs and Corporates the Bank will introduce a fee for a lack of possibility to automatically process foreign orders when the BIC code of the beneficiary's bank is not provided or a cost option different than “SHA” is used for foreign orders in PLN (“SHA” is the recommended cost option in foreign payments, both by the Act on payment services of 19 August 2011 and the National Bank of Poland – owner of the settlement system SORBNET2 interbank settlements in PLN).
