From 1 January 2020 you will pay some of your taxes to a tax micro account

From 1 January 2020 you will be required to make your tax payments to your personal tax micro account. The change results from new regulations on PIT, CIT, and VAT payments (Act of 4 July 2019 on Amendments to the Goods and Services Tax Act and Certain Other Acts).

You will still be required to make the remaining payments to the government other than taxes to the tax account of your tax office.

What is a tax micro account?
It is a personal tax account number that you will be required to use to make PIT, CIT, and VAT payments from 1 January 2020.
From 13 December 2019 you will be able to order transfers to tax micro accounts with future execution dates in mBank CompanyNet.

How to check the number of your personal tax micro account?
The Ministry of Finance has launched a micro account generator available on www.podatki.gov.pl/generator-mikrorachunku-podatkowego/.
You can also request the number from your tax office.

What does a tax micro account number look like?
A personal tax micro account number consists of 26 characters, including the PESEL number (of a natural person) or NIP (of an entity other than a natural person or a tax office).

CD – check digits
10100071 – NBP settlement number – fixed value
222 – NBP complementary number – fixed value
Y=1 for PESEL or Y=2 for NIP
XXXX XXXX XXX0 – PESEL or XXXX XXXX XX00 – NIP
The existing accounts of tax offices used for PIT, CIT, and VAT payments will be closed on 31 December 2019.
