The new mBank is the most disruptive innovation in the world

In the global contest "Distribution and Marketing Innovation Awards", in which the best banking projects in the world are awarded, the new mBank outdistanced 158 banks from 54 countries on five continents. Bank employees voting in the contest, who represent an organisation of more than 3.3 thousand global companies, named mBank as the best on-line and mobile bank ("Digital and Mobile Excellence") and awarded it with a statuette for an institution which significantly changes the face of global baking  ("The Most Disruptive Innovation").Co-organizers of the "Distribution and Marketing Innovation Awards" contest are Efma - an organisation of 3.3 thousand banks and financial companies from more than 150 countries - and Accenture. Its aim is to select the best and the most disruptive projects in retail banking area from all over the world. This year over 150 banks representing 54 countries on five continents with nearly 330 projects entered the contest, in which the best banking initiatives are reviewed. What is important, mBank was the only awarded bank from Poland and what is more, it was the only winner that received two statuettes. The financial institutions taking part in the contest submit their most innovative projects. The winners are selected by a combination of votes from a panel of several dozen judges composed exclusively of senior retail bankers from around the world, and on-line votes of Efma members. The most desirable award is the "The Most Disruptive Innovation" title granted to groundbreaking ideas which significantly change the banking industry. This year it was mBank that received the statuette in an important "Digital and Mobile Excellence" category - the best on-line and mobile bank - for parallel implementation of eleven financial technological innovations. The fact that the mBank project involved many innovative solutions and functions that have not been used in financial services yet was particularly appreciated. This is not the first award for the new mBank. This year the project won recognition at the Finovate conference in London and New York where the bank received the "Best of Show" statuette twice. Finovate is one of the major global conferences presenting innovations in the financial industry. TechCrunch, a leading service in technological industry, also noticed the technological solutions implemented by mBank. For more information about the contest and Efma organisation visit the website www.efma.com/accenture.
